Reviving Culture, Empowering the People of Batuan Village
We believe that preserving culture is not just about protecting the past, but also about shaping a more meaningful future for today’s and tomorrow’s generations. During our interview with Wayan Suda, the Deputy Traditional Village Leader (Wakil Bendesa Adat) at Batuan Temple on June 24, 2025, a powerful message was conveyed: that the sacred traditions passed down by our ancestors must not only be safeguarded, but also actively nurtured and revitalized.
One of the key initiatives currently underway is the construction of a cultural performance stage and the renovation of an art museum located on the eastern side of Pura Puseh Batuan. The stage will serve as a platform for local artists to showcase traditional Balinese dance, gamelan music, and other unique expressions of Batuan’s cultural heritage. Meanwhile, the art museum will function as a space to house artworks created by Batuan’s local artists, so they can be appreciated by the public and also marketed to support their livelihoods.
Currently June, 27, 2025, the construction and renovation have begun using funds from the village budget allocation and special financial assistance (Bantuan Keuangan Khusus - BKK) from the Gianyar Regency Government. However, the available funds are not sufficient to complete the entire project. This vision cannot be realized without your support and this is where your role becomes essential.
